WAXMGZINE is an independent music publication. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit the site or subscribe to the newsletter, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what choices you have. We try to keep this document as short and honest as we can while still covering the ground that actually matters.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store the email address you give us together with the approximate city and country derived from your IP address, and the timestamp of your signup. We use the geographic information to understand where our readers are and to plan future coverage — never to target you personally.

If you send us a note through the contact form, we store the message, the reason you selected (pitch, editorial, press, other), and the timestamp so we can route it to the right editor and reply. We do not display your message publicly, and we do not attach your email to any other database.

When you read the site we log the same anonymous, aggregate signals every publisher does: which articles are opened, how long the page stayed in focus, and rough referrer information. These logs are not tied to any personal identifier and are used only to understand what our audience is reading.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or "audience partners." We do not run third-party ad-tech pixels, cross-site behavioural trackers, or fingerprinting scripts. We do not build a shadow profile of you, and we do not enrich our subscriber list with data purchased from anyone else. If any of this ever changes, we will say so on this page before it takes effect.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of first-party cookies to keep the site working — remembering your theme choice, keeping you signed in if you have an account, and preventing spam submissions on our forms. Our analytics are aggregated at the page level and do not follow you across other websites.

How long we keep it

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for up to twenty-four months so editors can follow up on longer conversations, then deleted. Anonymous analytics roll up into monthly aggregates after ninety days and the raw records are discarded.

Your choices

Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link. To request deletion of any information we hold about you, use the contact form and choose the "Other" reason with a short note describing what you want removed. We honour reasonable requests within thirty days.

Where the data lives

The site and its database are hosted on managed cloud infrastructure. Access to production data is restricted to the editors and engineers who need it to run the publication, and the connection is encrypted in transit. We do not export subscriber data to spreadsheets, CRMs, or marketing tools that we haven't listed on this page.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will note it at the top of this page and, when the change affects subscribers, mention it in the next newsletter. The rest of the time, small wording tweaks will simply appear here without ceremony.
